Russian President Vladimir Putin will stay on a two-day visit to Turkey this week, where he will talk to his Turkish and Iranian counterparts.
Putin will meet with Turkish President Recep Tayip Erdogan on April 3rd in Ankara, within the framework of the Turkey-Russia Council for Higher Co-operation meeting.
The Kremlin has announced that bilateral co-operation in trade and economic spheres will be discussed during this meeting. Also, implementation of “joint strategic projects will be discussed, especially those in the energy sector”.
Putin and Erdogan are expected to launch Turkey's first nuclear station unit, Akkuyu.
In April 2015, the Russian state nuclear power corporation Rosatom started building four nuclear units worth $20 billion.
The Kremlin has announced that Putin and Erdogan are also expected to talk about “regional and international issues, including the joint fight against terrorism and the situation in Syria”, ahead of the trilateral meeting with Iranian President Hasan Rohan, which will be held in Ankara on 4 April.
Russia, Turkey and Iran are involved in the conflict in Syria and sponsor the peace talks held in Astana, Kazakhstan.
