Some countries have stepped up attempts to ignore internationally recognised norms of international laws, using military power as well as bypassing the UN Security Council, reads Putin's message, reports “Sputnik International” Transmission Periscope.

This, in turn, generates political and social instability, play in the hands of terrorist forces, extremism, transnational crime, leading to a escalation of local conflicts and crises”, he said.

The Russian president stressed that the current meeting under the auspices of the UN Security Council provides an opportunity to discuss ways in which a series of challenges to international security should be addressed.
