The Kosovo Police Union wants the Kosovo government to back and approve proposals from the joint police management and Kosovo Police Union document regarding wage levels.
The working group and the drafting of this document with the supporting clarifications that contain the document have tried not to harm the interests of Kosovo Police officers and to be equal to other security dictatorships in our country, such as the KSF, no more, but no less, taking into account the work and responsibilities Kosovo police have in implementing the constitutional duties of the Republic of Kosovo, the Law of Police and other laws, to protect the territorial integrity of the country, the sovereignty of the country, the preservation of public order and security, as well as the implementation of the Republic of Kosovo-led institutions, the Constitutional Union is said in the state of the police.
The police union through the communiqué addresses the police employees' concerns about what will happen to their salaries.
On February 5th, we've addressed the government with the No.01-04/2018 letter with which police officers have asked for opportunities to resolve the most vital issue for Kosovo police employees, which is alternative and vital insurance. However, we still had no response from the government, even though the Government of the Republic of Kosovo and the public opinion that Kosovo police are the only police in the region and the world, which has no health and life insurance. The issue since the founding of the Kosovo Police Union has been laid out as the most priority issue for Kosovo Police officers. Kosovo police are the most endangered institution in society. The fact argues that from the founding of the Kosovo Police so far, we have 17 cases of death in carrying out the task, while the number of those injured throughout this time is huge and, as a result, among us we have police officials who have remained disabled permanently”, the communiqué says.
Therefore, the Police Union, wants from the Government of the Republic of Kosovo in the short term to give epilogue to these two vital issues to Kosovo Police officers.
