On the occasion of starting the test P ISA, Minister of Education, Science and Technology Shyqi, Bytyqi, has voiced optimism that this time students from Kosovo will come up with much better results than three years ago.
These comments were made by Minister Bytyqi on the occasion of a visit to lower secondary school in Prizren, “Ibrahim Fehmiu”, a school that has not been subjected to the P test. ISA.
This test in this municipality will take place in 4 days, a total test will undergo 462 students.
As far as this day goes, the minister of education said it took a very big commitment and commitment.
We've managed with general mobilization by contacting all schools, teachers and students, to understand the importance of the test. P ISA. They've taken appropriate formations, they understand the importance, which was missing in 2015. And this commitment makes me believe that we will do much better on the PISA prove”, he said.
Bytyqi said no one but co-ordinators can be present at schools in which the test is being held.
“Following test rules P ISA is not allowed. That's why we've chosen another school and shown that we've been constantly careful to do a good job on the field. But because of the rules we can't be in the school where the test will be held”, the minister explained.
Even the mayor of the Prizen municipality, Mytaher Haskuka, hopes this year's test will have better results.
According to him, the results of 2015 have served to calculate and regulate the system's weaknesses.
The results of last time I think have shown the system's weaknesses and I think it will help us fix the situation. We as a municipality will work on improving education, especially on improving conditions and better selection and on better staff assessment within the system. I believe that the quality will gradually rise, but it needs to turn into the education system in Kosovo so that we don't have students memorizing texts, but have students learning rationally and understanding what they read”, Haskuka said.
Director for Culture and Education in Prizren Skender Susuri has explained the prosperity of the testing process.
“These are defined rules. First it's an hour, then in an hour it's 5 minutes off to continue at the next hour. After the second hour, it's a 30-minute pause where students will get a break and then it's a questionnaire that will take 35-45 minutes. It'll be a total of three hours... The test in Prizren is held on four dates, today, tomorrow, day, day after day and 23”, he announced.
Minister of Education and the chairman of the Prizren municipality during the day also visited the school “Matti Logorec”. In the course of the meetings, Minister Bytyqi also visited Prizren University, where he met with Rector Rame Vataj.
