LDK Deputy Chairman Agim Veliu has clouded the situation regarding the table this party has called. He has come up with an opposite stance with LDK chief Avdullah Hoti, who at a conference had declared that this table would be held “to set the election date with political parties.
The Democratic League of Kosovo had voted the demarcation with Montenegro, arguing that after that, the country should go to the polls. For this, the LDK had also warned of a table with all political parties in the country so they could agree to the date of the elections.
However, LDK deputy chairman Agim Veliu has said this table has not been held to discuss elections. He has said that initially, political parties should discuss reaching consensus on the country's major topics -- one thing required in PDK chairman Kadri Wessel's platform.
We have agreed that we are subject to such subjects. These tables will continue very soon, maybe next week it will be the next table and then we will discuss the topics further and with the choices and with the consensus on the topics in Kosovo's interest. We didn't call this meeting for elections, but to make efforts to find solutions that are in the interests of Kosovo. We estimate that the country is in an institutional crisis and that this is the LDK's position that this government has no legitimacy because it currently has 52 votes, but we are interested in the issues that are in Kosovo's interests to find solutions. If we don't get a consensus on these, then we go to choice”, Veliu said, writes Periscope.
Otherwise, the head of the Parliamentary Group of the Democratic League of Kosovo (LDK), Avdullah Hoti, has stressed that the country cannot be run by a minority government.
He had made these comments at a regular week-long LDK conference, where he spoke of the current government, has said there are 350,000 votes of Kosovo citizens in opposition, as little as 200 thousand votes are in office.
“We propose to hold a joint table with all parties, to agree on the election date and actions that should take place in the meantime”, Hoti added.
According to him, if the common table does not happen, then they as a party are obliged to push ahead with the vote of confidence for Haradinaj government. /Periscope.
