Kosovo's Ministry of Foreign Affairs estimates that the EC report on Kosovo is real and constructive, through which the achievements, challenges and, above all, hard work await our country until full and equal membership in the European Union.
The MPJ considers the fact that the European Commission has positively assessed, in particular progress in fighting corruption and organised crime, as well as ratification of demarcation with Montenegro, the last two criteria met by Kosovo institutions, which are expected to pave the way for accelerating the visa liberalisation process.
“The emphasis on other achievements, including but not limited to the area of economic development, the Public Administration Reform, the efforts to normalise relations and resume dialogue with Serbia are encouraging to boost and revive even greater efforts in this direction”, the communiqué says.
MPJ also takes into account the challenges presented in this report, voicing the pledge that they remain a guide to local institutions in continuing our firm and determined path towards European integration.
The MPJ vows that, in co-operation with other line institutions, it will make the contribution to overcoming addressed challenges and accelerating Kosovo's road towards EU membership.
MPJ also congratulates the Republic of Albania and the Republic of Macedonia on receiving recommendation for opening negotiations for EU membership, praising both an extremely important message for the achievements of the two states and for strengthening conviction and increasing confidence in the continuation of the full and equal membership process of all Western Balkan countries.
