Today's protest is closed, which the opposition described as the beginning of civil disobedience. Citizens have begun to release road axes, allowing the car to resume.
Today's protest took place without police permission, which authorities announced last night would have consequences for participants and organisers.
It is expected that in the afternoon and evening hours the arrests will begin, while remaining to be seen what will happen to Lulzim Basha and Monica the Grand, as its organizer.
Speaking from Warren, head of The DP, Lulzim Basha, has called on Prime Minister Edi Rama to release 11 Kurds who remained in prison yesterday present Saturday's violent protest against the national road tax.
“Edi Rama freed Saimir Tahiri and does not arrest criminals and free bandits from prison. He arrests innocent people who protest a living. You have turned state police into private police and politicised courts”, Basha said from Vora today, while the opposition has not announced what she will do in the coming days.
Police statement last night
As it has become known in the media, some opposition parties have announced that on April 5th, they will hold a protest, coupled with the blocking of several national road axes.
State police have received no legal notice for the protest and based on the Law “on Gatherings” can allow no one's protests, which on behalf of freedom of assembly, violate the freedom and security of others.
The development of the media warned protest, for its very nature, constitutes a serious violation of the law, public order and the freedom of security of any citizen, who has the right to use spaces occupied by such a protest.
Organisers of this illegal protest will face the law for any unforeseen consequences, which could bring an organised protest to stir up confusion and conflict at nerve points for the circulation of people and means.
The State Police recognise and respect the right to protest as immune. But it has legal responsibility, as well as willingness not to allow the interest of citizens to be affected.
State police appeal to all citizens not to fall prey to a policy committed to hitting the country's legitimacy and institutions, damaging the interests of people and the country itself.
Developing an illegal protest can be used by elements with criminal precedents and promoted or paid to create social instability.
Police urge every citizen not to become part of this illegal and dangerous protest for order and security.
The State Police also apologise to every citizen in advance, in case he cannot afford to serve freedom of circulation properly.
