The United States for the second time within this year launched missiles that slammed the Syrian state's military targets.
The US, Great Britain and France launched air strikes in Syria earlier this morning, targeting points on which chemical weapons were dropped a few days ago in the city of Douma.
Today's attacks hit Syria before dawn with explosions and loud noises, and American officials said this attack was to punish Syria for the chemical rifle they fired on civilians in Douma.
But today's attacks are posing the risk of attracting the United States even deeper into the Syrian conflict Russia and Iran warned President Trump not to interfere with, reports The New York Times.
Ajothallah Ali Khamenei, Iran's supreme leader, called the attacks “a crime” and the heads of the United States, France and Britain “kriminel”.
Iran and Russia have expanded their military expansion. Russia has a presence on most Syrian military bases, and its air force has been essential to Mr. Assad's recent advances.
Iran has used the chaos of war to strengthen its authorities to prevent and perhaps face Israel.
The United States still has about 2,000 troops in eastern Syria working with authorities led by Kurds to fight the jihadists of the Islamic State.
