But an answer finally seems to have turned the MF. Muharrem Sahini, director of the Public Communications Office in the ministry, has said of Indexline that the Ministry of Finance cannot possibly allocate 100 thousand additional euros to the CEC.
“The Ministry of Finance ) has accepted a request from the CEC for sharing additional resources in the amount of 100,000 euros for the payment of unpaid commitments by 2017 (for K-Vot staff, QNR staff and country council members). In this regard, the Ministry of Finance has announced to the CEC that there is no possibility of sharing additional tools”, Sahin has announced.
On the other hand, he has clarified that they have recommended to the CEC to use the means they have been provided from the 2018 budget and to pay fees for commissioners.
We have recommended to the CEC that obligations be covered based on budgetary divisions ahead of the budget law for 2018, as well as by respecting the Law of Public Finance Management, Article 30.2 for harmonisation within below CEC” programmes, he added.
Otherwise, the CEC must make payments for another thousand and 6671 commissioners.
We remember that there were about 50,000 commissioners in the local elections in 2017, while the greatest majority of them were paid.
