“So far there is no decision, but I would like to stress that Germany will not participate in a possible military operation in Syria, but will show any further efforts to signal that use of chemical weapons cannot be allowed”, Merkel said.
It has also stressed that any measures against Assad's regime should be considered, which for Germany means that they must rely on works at the United Nations Security Council and the Organisation for the Prevention of Chemical Weapons, broadcasts.
We have played a significant role in the annihilation of chemical weapons in Syria. Now, however, we note that the annihilation of these has not been fully realized. Now all measures must be taken into consideration. In Germany's respect this means that we will support all activities of the UN Security Council”, Germany's Chancellor said.
Merkel, has declared that with French President Emmanuel Macron, she has talked about the Syria issue and that they will stay in touch on the issue.
