Numerous scandals with perishable, over-term meat have not contributed to the decline in consumption of this product. Kosovo continues to import millions of pounds of meat every month, while import statistics have not changed after publishing these scandals, Koha Ditore writes today.
According to Kosovo Customs data, during the month of March when the scandal with broken Belgian meat was published, 12 years old Kosovo has imported more than 3 million pounds of meat from all kinds. Meanwhile, during just the first half of April, about two million pounds [2 million kg] have been imported.
These figures, according to Dogan's spokesman, the Adriatic Stavilev, show there is no shift in import.
