The largest German bank, “Deutsche Bank” wrongly transferred 28 billion euros to a transaction made before Easter, the bank confirmed today.
“Banca sent this money, on March 16th, to another account of Deutsche Bank at Eurex, which deals with the exchange of derivatives and not to a client”, a spokesman in Frankfurt reported.
A much smaller and unscheduled amount of money was to be sent instead of this extremely bad and extremely high amount, which is even higher than the 24 billion euros worth of the market sector.
However, no damage came from this error, with the transaction canceled a few minutes after it was done, follows the csp.
The bank said it has analysed the reasons for this mistake and has made arrangements not to happen again.
This mistake occurred in the last days of chief executive John Creyan, who retires.
