How Kosovo security members were shamed over years from Serbia

Tied and lying on the ground, Kosovo police officers had ended up arrested by Serbian police six years ago. Police were ashamed of the Serbian media when their photo was released disarmed, bound and lying on the ground.

But in addition to the case of 2012, Kosovo Police Director for the Mitrovica region Nehat Thaci had been arrested by Serbia to stay in custody about a month. When it was thought that Kosovo citizens would no longer be arrested, Serbia has arrested a Kosovo soldier today.

On March 31st 2012, Serbia's then Serbian Interior Minister Ivica Dacic had held a media conference where you had witnessed the arrest of Kosovo police officers.

“What they requested on Serbia's territory and under what agreement. Serbia will no longer bear these acts”, Dacic had declared.

When six years had passed, the state of Serbia had also taken a Kosovo policeman. This time he had been prominent. Nehat Thaci, director of the Kosovo Police for the Mitrovica region, was arrested in September 2016 while traveling with a friend.

He had been detained at the “White Land point”, where he had subsequently remained in custody for about a month. Thaci was arrested under war crimes allegations.

Two years have passed since the case of Nehat Thaci, Serbia has returned to arresting Kosovo security officials. During today a Kosovo Security Force soldier has been arrested. Milos Shosic has been arrested today and has been released from Serbia without the reasons yet being disclosed.

His arrest has come only a week after the threat of Marko Djuric, the so-called director of Kosovo in Serbia's Government, is sentenced to prison for any Serb joining the KSF.

Djuric had said that under Serbia's laws Serb participation in the illegal armed forces is punishable by up to 10 years in prison.

KSF Minister Rrustem Berisha in a brief conversation today for Inseder has confirmed the release of the Kosovo soldier, while failing to rule out the possibility that Shoshiki's arrest occurred due to threats by Djuric.

We remember that in addition to Kosovo police and KSF soldier at Serbia's request by Slovenian and French authorities, Kosovo Prime Minister Ramush Haradinaj had been arrested.

He had remained in custody for about three months in France, where Serbia's request for his extradition was later rejected. Serbia has also warned weeks ago that the arrest of Kosovars at the helm with Hashim Thaci and Ramush Haradinaj have returned to the Interpol list.

Serbia's Interior Minister Nebojsa Stefanovic has threatened Kosovo Prime Minister Ramush Haradinaj during yesterday that he will be arrested if he enters Serbia's territory.

The order to arrest him is in effect and will, however, be arrested if he can be captured by Police”, Stefanovic has declared.
