North Korean leader Kim Jong has declared that there is no longer any need for new nuclear tests.
“Since April 21st, North Korea will ban nuclear testing and issuing intercstinctical ballistic missiles”, South Korean Central news agency said, as quoted by South Korea's Yonha.
The decision came after a meeting of the North Korean Workers' Party, which also holds power in this country.
North Korea has long conducted nuclear tests, disturbing Korean-South neighbours and Japan, while Kim Jong was also involved in threatening rhetoric with American President Donald Trump.
Tensions have dropped significantly recently and the parties are working to determine the details of a meeting between Trump and Kim Jong, expected to be held soon.
