At least 40 civilians were killed Friday following air strikes by the Syrian regime over the town of Douma.
According to the Human Rights Observatory, which is headed by Rami Abdel Rahman, described the attack as “histric “=x1>.
Air strikes were carried out by the Syrian army south-west and east of Douma, which is currently being held by Islamist faction Jaysh al-Islam.
Syrian state television reported that Republican Guardian forces are advancing towards the city following the evacuation of civilians and rebel fighters who stopped the day before.
Jaysh al-Islam characterised the ground and operations operation on Friday as a massacre, after beginning several days of smaller fighting.
