Kosovo's European Integration Minister, Gift Hoxha, has commented on the review of the Freedom House organisation on the problems observed in Kosovo over the past year, but also on Kosovo's ambitions and challenges.
She said the Kosovo government has recently adopted 11 laws, which are related to the fight against corruption.
“We hope that these laws will meet the gaps and help us to be more efficient and have greater accountability”, Minister Hoxha said, in an interview for the Voice of America. She said there is hope that within the year Kosovo citizens will move freely to EU countries, as their neighbours do, and that on April 17th they expect the assessment report of the criteria Kosovo has been set to progress in European integrations.
Asked about the recent incident of the deportation of six Turkish citizens to Ankara, she said an investigation expected to be completed very soon has been launched.
“From this investigation we will have a very transparent report, with which not only the people of Kosovo will be recognised, but also international partners”, she said.
