It is thought that there are at least 2 victims after the planes crashed at Adolf Wurth Airport in Schwebisch Hall.
Both dead were pilots according to German media, but investigators say the death toll will continue to rise as crews continue to seek victims.
The planes crashed while trying to sit in the airport at about 4: 00 p.m. on Sunday. They flew from Stuttgart and Regensburg, respectively.
The crash site is 600m from the airport.
