Germany's Ambassador to Belgrade, Axel Ditmann, has said it is the EU's unique position that the purpose of negotiations should be the overall normalisation of Serbia and Kosovo's relations, because the EU does not want unresolved bilateral issues within itself, Koha.net broadcasts.
“Germany wants to contribute so that the dialogue of Serbia and Kosovo, with EU mediation, brings about the overall normalisation of relations, we are partners” has said Ditmann.
According to him, what N1 conveys, he has said it is positive that after procrastination, talks for the AKS finally started, while adding that negotiations will not be easy, but of importance that the EU is committed to dialogue and striving to reach the agreement.
It is necessary to find the solution that includes all aspects of normalisation of relations. We will carefully follow this, along with the EU mediating in negotiations”, Ditmann said.
He has stressed that normalising Serbia's relations is the common position of the European Union.
“We support this process and now we need to find a good compromise solution so that relations can normalise with a sound basis”, it is complete.
