European Parliament member Knut Flickenstein has publicly expressed his opinion of the immediate opening of negotiations with Albania.
He has done so through a Facebook status, showing his impressions from the latest visit to our country, where he says he has been impressed by young people's desire to bring Albania closer to the EU.
Here's Flickenstein's full status:
Last week I visited Albania again. My conclusion is clear: We need to open negotiations with this state immediately. Progress has been made, but I think a lot of work has to be done, no doubt. I am truly encouraged by the young people I met in Tirana, at school, at the River Coast Social Centre, and at the University of Durres. They all want our support, to bring Albania closer to Europe. We may have different opinions about many political decisions, but with these young people in Tirana, it is truly worth working.
