Flag Sefaj speaks after his resignation

Flag Sefaj of the New Kosovo Alliance has resigned today from the post of minister of Internal Affairs.

He in a Facebook post wrote he disagreed with the reason Prime Minister Ramush Haradinaj had given him to free his position.

According to him, Kosovo Police action in northern Mitrovica was in defense of the Constitution.

This is Sefaj's post:

Dear citizens,

Although I did not agree to the reason given in applying for my release of office as minister of Internal Affairs today, I offered my irrevocable resignation.

It was my privilege, honor, and pride to serve my country for seven months.

I want to assure all citizens of the Republic of Kosovo that the operation of our police in northern Kosovo protected the Constitution and the principles of our multiethnic society.
