Pristina Foundation Court has confirmed today the prosecution's indictment of former Health Minister Ferid Agani, who is suspected of misusing the official position in the case known “Stanta”
64 people are involved, among them Agan, a secretary general of a ministry, 44 doctors, a nurse, and 13 others working in private health institutions.
This foundation decision, Aganus, has been deemed unfair in the Indescline, so he will also be rejected.
I consider this decision to be unfair and that it will soon be rejected by the Court of Appeals as it did with the first confirmation of the indictment in July of last year”, Agan said.
As soon as allegations of misuse of office were raised, he said he had immediately called on Kosovo's prime minister to be released from office by the Minister of Government of the Republic of Kosovo.
I've done this with full confidence in the country's judicial system. Although a nurse for his fragility aimed at strengthening the rule of order and law in the country and proving the democratic state-owned potential of the country's political leadership before international partners in sensitive moments of nation statehood and Euro-Western integration”, Agani stressed.
According to him, the collateral consequences of this decision have been serious, as has the Justice Party, whose chairman is he, for his political career, family and broad social circle.
He estimated that unfortunately the prosecutorial system and the country's judiciary were not at the level of institutional responsibility, as according to him, even after more than four years of the establishment of investigations, they were unable to ensure timely and fair court processes.
“For more I am an exemplistic example of selective justice in the Republic of Kosovo, having been accused of ministerial actions that have also been implemented by health ministers in preliminary mandates, but also currently, what I have addressed to the ombudsman's institution for the protection of my human and institutional rights, Agan added.
Obeyed in his innocence, the former minister congratulated that the anomalies of this unfair and prolonged investigative and judicial process be overcome as quickly as possible with fair judicial decision.
Actause in “case Stanta” was established in June 2016.
According to the indictment, former Health Minister Ferid Agani and Minister Gani Shaban's permanent secretary are accused of misusing official office during issuing permits to treat patients abroad.
