Tanja Fajon, the European Parliament's rapporteur for the visa liberalisation process for Kosovo, has given positive marks to Kosovo on meeting the criteria for visa liberalisation. In a response, Slovenian Fajon has said that when it comes to fighting corruption and organised crime, great progress has been made.

However, Fajon, in her response, has not spoken specifically about when visa liberalisation could occur.

Kosovo has made great progress in meeting all EU criteria for visa liberalisation”, it has said.

The “Agreement on demarcation with Montenegro has been ratified in the Kosovo Assembly and, according to my information, a major progress has been made in the fight against corruption and organised crime”, it has stressed.

According to Fajon, the European Commission must now recognise the progress that has been made and that it will become very soon.

“Once the Commission gives the green light, I will proceed with the approval procedure in the European Parliament. It will be essential that the EU ministers move quickly, and so will I about doing the best possible” has said Fajon.

“We have no more reason to fail to act or waste time. Kosovo citizens deserve to move freely to Europe more than ever before. Now we have a unique opportunity to make this a reality”
