Facebook scandal rises, believed to hit 87 million users

The BBC reports that one million of users are from Great Britain.

Initially it was reported that the number of users whose data has been used has been around 50 million.

These details were made known by chief of technology at the company, Mike Schroepfer.

The data was released just hours before it was reported that Facebook Executive Chief Mark Zuckerberg will testify before the Senate Committee on Trade, concerning the use of user data from his company.

Facebook has faced criticism after it became known that the company had knowledge that Cambridge Analytica used the data of more than 50 million users of the social Facebook network.
