The European Agency for Air Traffic Control Eurocontrol warned airliners to exercise caution on their trips to the eastern Mediterranean. The alert comes due to the possibility of launching air strikes in Syria in the next 72 hours. According to Eurocontrol, land and air missiles can be used in this space of time, even though the agency did not specify the origin of any possible missile threat to warning posted on its official page.
US President Donald Trump and Western allies are discussing the possibility of a military action to punish Syrian President Bashar al-Assad, who allegedly ordered a chemical attack last week on a rebel-controlled town. Trump even cancelled a planned trip to Latin America to pay full attention to the Syria incident. The American president warned on Monday of a quick and powerful response once the responsibility for the chemical attack is verified.
However, Russia has warned the United States to avoid taking military action. Moscow's envoy to the United Nations Vasily Nebenzia said Washington will take responsibility for any non-legal military “that will carry out in Syria.
