All new automobiles sold in the European Union will have to integrate a special session that will call for assistance in the event of traffic accidents.
European Car Producer Association Secretary A CEA Erik Nonert, said the system eCall “has the potential to save many lives by reducing the time of an emergency response”.
Sensors in the car will automatically indicate the location, time, and direction in which the vehicle was moving when an accident occurred.
The ECI system was approved by 28 EU member states in 2015, and this weekend begins the period of three-year transition. /Periscopi/
