Work on establishment of Association begins, government puts the day in order for discussion

Klan Kosova has secured the document with the agenda points of this meeting, where it appears its second point is “Information about the Proposal for the Working Mechanism for the Association of Serb-run municipalities in Kosovo”.

During the past week, President Hashim Thaci and Prime Minister Ramush Haradinaj have reactivated the managerial team, which will make drafts of the statute for the Association of Serbian municipalities.

Producing the statute will be a transparent and comprehensive process, which will consist of three processing mechanisms: The management team, the implementing Committee as well as the National Consultative Group, which will ensure involvement of the entire political spectrum, civil society and other relevant mechanisms of society.

International mechanisms, which have assisted Kosovo in all phases, are expected to be involved in this process, and this will be an important step of Kosovo on its path to Euro-Atlantic integration.

The final draft of the statute, at the end of the process together with the directive, will be sent to the Constitutional Court to ensure it is in full compliance with the Kosovo Constitution.
