With the motto “you become Earth friend” Pristina University “hasan Pristina” and the Pristina municipality have developed activities on the UP's captain to mark Earth Day, with what cases it has been known that Pristina will be added to 38 thousand trees.
The head of the Pristina municipality, Shpend Ahmeti, announced that care of nature and activities to increase the number of trees in the capital are not only one day, but that on one day such activities are added.
Ahmeti made it known that the municipality he runs will plant 38,000 trees with the symbol of 038.
When we're discussing the air pollution work, it's good that now when we don't have air pollution, so we can remember and plant as many trees as we can, and we'll soon warn the initiative to plant 38,000 locks that will be initiative in all of Pristina, that is, symbolicly 038 so we can add the number of trees that we have”, he said.
He said that by the end of the day about 800 trees will be planted in the capital.
This is not a one-day battle. So it doesn't take once a year to think about it, it's a battle that we all have to do. But today we have organised increased activities and here I first thank Asamblist Adrian Berisha, who has managed to provide 800 trees planted in the Pristina municipality of”, he stressed.
Pristina's first said that even if 80 per cent of the capital's surface is covered with greenery, it still does not mean there is enough greenery.
University of Pristina Rector Marjan Dema stressed the importance of this activity, saying that way the highest values of higher education are being proven.
He said UP is simply performing one of its obligations.
“The UPI is performing its duty to be as close to the student as possible, to be closer to the citizen. So in that spirit, even according to our mission, we are promoting that co-operation in all spheres, establishing one of the fundamental values of higher education that is public responsibility”, he said.
Dema related how the university in this very direction has been founded by the Office for Innovation and the Intervention, where one of the main projects is the green campus.
Agim Vatovci, chairman of the Association of Elbeep Persons and Special Needs in Kosovo, posed as problematic the absence of heads of state, as he said this is the 8th consecutive year they do not participate in such voluntary activities.
Meanwhile, he thanked Pristina chairman Shpend Ahmeti and UPi Rector Marjan Dema for inviting people with special needs to contribute on Earth Day.
We have an important day today. First we thank the mayor, Shpend Ahmeti, who has invited us as an association and we have come, we have not hesitated. So in all of Kosovo we have mobilised our members... I had a greater desire to be our leader, beginning with the head of state, the head of parliament, the leader of the government, and the ministers, if 8 years were to happen so”, he said.
While student Flalogon Sulejmani, in a proposal for Kosova Prees, praised such organisations as necessary, but said they should be much more frequent.
“Organizations like this are very important for land maintenance and cleanliness. But there is very little organization. We should have more organization to maintain so that we don't have waste in our country”, he said.
Activations to this day will continue until 5:00 p.m., where during this time the cleaning of the university campus and planting of trees in that section will continue. There will also be different music and games, as well as discussion of the importance of caring for the earth.
