The voting process for presidential elections in Montenegro passed smoothly at 1200 polling stations. Voter rights were 520 thousand Montenegrins, with 22 thousand of them Albanian.
There are 7 candidates in the race, but the strong confrontation is that of Milo Djukanovic, the pro-European leader whose party leads Montenegro for 28 years and on the other side, Mladen Bojanic of the Democratic Front, an extremist proserbe nationalist party.
Albanians in Montenegro joined in voting for Milo Djukanovic.
Analysts in Ulcinj say this is the solution to saving not only Albanian people, but the entire region's policy.
The “is a critical moment, where all of Montenegro's achievements towards Europe and all of the Albanian achievements here are put into question if Djukanovic does not win”, analyst Ali Sala says.
“will win Milo Djukanovic in the first round and that this victory will be a victory for Albanian”, Haxhi Shabani declares.
“in these 30 years Djukanovic's party has had to do more for Albanian rights, but yet there is now a moment when Djukanovic must be voted on”, says journalist Ismet Kalaba.
Montenegro's elections were monitored by 2,000 observers and 30 foreign media, showing interest in the direction the smallest state will take in the Balkans -- a Western direction to NATO towards the EU -- or turning back years towards proserbe policies.
