Researchers have discovered some 50 new traces, the size of a car, from dinosaurs belonging to the Jurassic era.
The study published in the Scottish magazine has found some traces on this island.
This island site showed hundreds of traces, almost all of which were large, long - necked dinosaurs fed on plants and were known as sauropods. But the newly discovered trace in Rubha Nam Brathhareian, or the Brothers' Point, reveals that these heavy animals were sharing their country with another type of dinosaur: a carnivorous, reports the Guardian”, broadcast Periscopi.
“at any time we find new traces, especially in Scotland because records are few for this type of dinosaur worldwide,” said Dr. Stephen Brewster, a paleontologist and coauthor of the study by the University of Edinburgh.
Some 170 million years ago, shortly after the Pangea supercontinent began to disintegrate, the land now known as Skye was part of a smaller subtropical island, much closer to the equator and filled with beaches, rivers, and lagoons.
This was a subtropical kind of world paradise, maybe Florida or Spain today,” said Brutte./Periscopi/
