Determined Teachers Do Not Give Up Strikes

The general strike in education will begin on April 13th next Friday. This SBASK decision is irreversible despite attempts by August officials to convince them of the opposite. SPASK leaders have said the warned strike will be held since the Kosovo government still does not [...]
The SBASK leaders have said the announced strike will be held since the Kosovo Government has not yet given the green light for the Kosovo Assembly draft education workers' status bill in the 1990-1999 years.
SBASK Chairman Nundman Jasharaj told Kosovo that seeing nothing is being undertaken for this bill to be prosecuted in the Assembly, the strike will continue as warned.
This strike will unfortunately not be like these first, one hour, two hours or a day, but it will be an indefinite strike, either to the realization of the requirements and I am saying the subliance of the SBASK that we are mostly on strike for is the unregulated fate of the Albanian Republic of Kosovo's status workers for the 90,500x1>, Jasharaj said.

He said they cannot back down from the strike because the Kosovo government has had enough time to solve this problem.
Jasharaj shows that for the April 13th strike through an official document, all institutions have been informed.
Jasharaj explains that Labour Minister Skender Recica has been informed that this bill is seen as budgetary burden.
SBASK leader says government should reflect on their demands, as the strike does no good to anyone when it is known that the test is now near P ISA, and other tests of interest to Kosovo students.
Kosova Prees has waited for days to receive an answer from August officials regarding warnings of the strike, but they have not answered their questions.
But the Minister of Education, Fatmir Bytyqi in a public television statement, has indicated that the Law for Education Workers of the 1990s has been handed over to Government but that it has faced some problems because of the budget.
However, the minister requires understanding by the SBASK not to hold strikes because they damage the education process, now when the test is near P ISA and the test of the State Math.
I've had an appointment with the SBASK, wanted to have a consensus and find a solution because we're in a more important phase, the test. P ISA, then we have the Matura test and it would really hurt the strike issue. There's no logic to get on strike when we're trying to find solutions, and I hope that within a very short period of time this will take the way out of”, Bytyqi said.
KosovoPress has made efforts to get an answer even from the Labour Ministry, but not even officials from this ministry have given any answers.
Unlike in February and March, one-day strikes in education have been held where teachers have demanded that the 1990-1999 education workers' status bill be passed for approval in the Assembly.
