The report also highlights the lack of judicial independence.
As the main human rights problems, The UN report has listed attacks on journalists and violence against members of ethnic minorities and the LGBTI community.
Meanwhile, the situation in Kosovo prisons, according to Dash, is not so good, as rehabilitation programmes continue to be lacking, there is violence against prisoners and inadequate medical care.
Family violence and the low sentences of perpetrators of violence, as well as efforts to establish standards on property sharing, remain a challenge, according to the US Department.
The report notes that few women hold leading positions in businesses, police, or government.
Report The UN, among other things, highlights restrictions on freedom of movement caused by the tense situation in northern Kosovo, as well as difficulties in returning displaced persons.
The report also cites implementation of the agreement for the justice system and parallel structures, where, according to the UN, despite claims of their dissolution, the Government of Serbia has continued to hold some of them in the majority Serb municipalities.
The UN in the annual report on Kosovo has included the 22 December 2017 initiative of a group of MPs for abolishing the Law for the establishment of the Special Court.
