The scandal with the arrest and deportation of six Turkish citizens has deepened over the weekend, with clashes between heads of state institutions, but also a strain of reports with the Turkish state.
The case, which has triggered a wave of reactions within the country, has highlighted different views between Kosovo Prime Minister Ramush Haradinaj and President Hashim Thaci, writes today “Koha Ditore”.
While Haradinaj, who insists he has not been notified of the action that resulted from the arrest and deportation of Turkish citizens, has made the decision to dismiss responsible officials, Interior Minister Flamur Sefaj, and Kosovo Intelligence Agency Director Driton Gashi, President Thaci has denied the dismissal of the AKI leader.
At a media conference held Saturday, Thaci has said he must pre-investigate the responsibility, and then take the measures, while from responsibility has not ruled out Haradinaj either.
In parallel to the long-standing clash between Haradinaj and Thaci, the situation is even heavier after a statement by Turkey's president, Reccep Tayip Erdgoan, who has been threateningly critical of Prime Minister Haradinaj's dismissal of two officials who helped deport Turkish citizens, whom the Erdogan regime calls as members of the organisation of cleric Fetullah Gylen, accused of organising the failed coup against Erdogan.
