The Kosovo Police and the Ministry of Internal Affairs deliberately or unintentionally discriminate and exclude members from the Kosovo Police Public Competition of the Egyptian Community and Ashkali.
As seen by the Egyptian and Ashkali application form, they are unable to run after being denied the right to declare ethnic affiliation in contrast with other communities. We declare that we will never allow this discriminating practice from the past”, it says in a statement by these two MPs. According to Berisha and Arifit the Egyptians and the Ashkali are constitutional categories until the non-religious (Cerkez and Croatian) categories are included, and that is an unforgivable mistake. The “Egyptians and the Ashkalis consider the Kosovo Police Institute a credit institution and do not expect exemption from this institution”, the statement said.
