The Adriatic Lylla has publicly admitted that Donald Lu asked an important politician for corruption to arrest him, but has never told him who this politician was.
In Opinion, Lella told the story of the private meeting she had with the ambassador to the office, said she was pressured by Bankers Petroleum, called him a soloist, accused him of blackmail, but the name of the politician targeted by the American Embassy kept him to himself.
The question of whether this politician was Sali Berisha, Lella gave no answer, leaving space for the audience.
But the name of the politician who was asked to be arrested by the U.S. Embassy, the former Attorney General, told the American Congress when he was asked information about Soros' influence in Albania.
Laps.al discovered a letter of the Adriatic Lella published in May 2017 on the Web site of the United States Congress.
In his letter to the U.S. Vice-commission to Europe and Asia, directed by Congressman Dana Rohrabacher, Lella again shows Donald Lou's meeting in May 2015, stating that the ambassador has sought Ilir Meta's arrest.
It's in my letter to Congress: “ ... Lu suggested to the attorney general the arrest of Ilir Meta, the speaker of parliament and also the chairman of the Socialist Movement for Integration. In Mr. Lou, Chief Prime Minister Meta was corrupt and was blocking the Justice Reform”.
His arrest (according to Lu) could help Albania integrate into the European Union, says Lella, who follows, explaining his position: This request, completely irresponsible, forced the Attorney General to interrupt the meeting, saying that the arrest of any human, including officials, can only be done on the basis of evidence”.
The debate appears to have been tough, as Lella writes: “The general prosecutor stressed that the request (of the ambassador) was unreasonable and that, arresting senior officials without evidence, risks bringing political and social instability”.
The worst part of this communication comes down, according to the description of Albania's former general prosecutor. “Facing this position (of the attorney general), Ambassador Lu said Albania's potential instability was not included in its priorities”.
In November, the Adriatic Lella was replaced in office by Arta Mark, and shortly after that the former chief prosecutor was banned from entering the United States of America with his family.
The decision signed by former Secretary of State Rex Tillerson was contested by Lella, who accused Ambassador Lu of lying to the State Department. Lapsy.al
