AKI chief must be elected before May month

Parliamentary Commission officials for AKI Supervision say the legal deadline for appointment of a new AKI director expires after 20 days after the former director's resignation. Driton Gashi has resigned on April 10, 2018, the newspaper “Voice” writes today. Kosovo Prime Minister Ramush Haradinaj has been on hold for two weeks now. [...]
Kosovo Prime Minister Ramush Haradinaj has been waiting for President Hashim Thaci to propose a name for the new AKI chief, which also requires Haradinaj's approval.
Although more than ten days have passed since AKI director Driton Gashi has surrendered his resignation, nobody has been appointed to the position of chief of the Kosovo Intelligence Agency.
To replace Gashi, Kosovo President Hashim Thaci and Prime Minister Ramush Haradinaj have a 20-day deadline since the day the former Kosovo chief-in-chief has officially left office.
While the presidency has refused to talk about the issue, the Kosovo government has said they are working in this direction.
Meanwhile, members of the Parliamentary Commission for AKI Supervision have announced that the Commission is completely unaware of the AKI work, since none of this institution, as they have said, reported before the Commission.
