Kosovo has failed to make reform in busy “administration” and draft the legislative package for this field. Thus, it risks losing millions of euros from the European Union, KTV reports.
European Integration officials estimate that if institutions work at this pace, it will hardly be able to complete the legislative package by June.
10 percent is the average countries in the European Union spend from their budget for wages and services.
Such an average leaves Kosovo far away, despite its poor economic state.
Our country, 40 percent of the state budget, spends it on salaries and services for public administration workers.
This percentage, the country's institutions have not tried to reduce, despite reform in public administration since the time it had to happen.
Public Administration Minister Mahir Jagcilar has reiterated the old phrase that this year will be a year of deep reforms.
MPs have acknowledged that from the EU there have often been remarks on the large number of employees in administration and lack of accountability.
Meanwhile, European integration connoisseurs estimate that Kosovo can cost a lot of delays in reform in administration.
Better the public administration doesn't even stand at the local level.
Despite continued EU calls, almost every municipal leadership has failed to make depoliticisation of public administration, since each party has employed sympathies and party militants.
Although June is the deadline when the legislative package regarding public administration should be completed, Kosovo has only now begun drafting these laws.
