On the Government Commission to verify the status of persons violated during the war by February 5th, 400 apps have been accepted.
In November last year, the government had made the decision that monthly payment for the category of victims of sexual violence during the war is around 230 euros.
Labour and Social Management Minister (MPMS), Skender Recica, said applicants have been officially accepted the status of victims of violence.
He has further clarified that part of them have been prosecuted for payment, adding that the entire process is scheduled to last 5 years.
“Since February 5th of this year, when the due date was officially launched for the start of accepting victims' applications during the last war until this moment when we are talking there are about 400 applications the commission has accepted is considering”, said Recica, Online Economy reported.
“A part of these applications have already been officially accepted as the status of victims of violence, and a portion of them have already been processed for payment, and I believe that very soon they will enjoy pre-” payments, Recica said.
The Government Commission for recognition and verification of the status of persons violated during the 30-day liberation war examines the application. He said that there were times when requests were denied.
“... the commission is doing the task very carefully, very responsibly, the cases are being handled, there are cases that i u has been recognized right, but there are times that they have been denied”, he added.
While pensions for veterans still remain a challenge for the country, according to the first MPMS is the ongoing process and are not known when it will end.
“In reality this process is continuing to develop, we are aware that when we took the task to run MPMS faced several decisions that, one way or another, categories emerged from the war have been denied their right guaranteed by law, and we have already introduced those decisions more than once, we abolished them in time and we are addressing them under the law for categories derived from war”.
He has added that it is not precisely known how much the final number of veterans will go, but that the MPMS under him has a legal obligation to provide budgetary means for all veterans on the list.
“ ... we don't know exactly what the final number of veterans will be because it's not up to us, we already do a service after recognising the veterans' status, we're entitled to the law to provide tools, to ensure budgets that all those veterans on the list enjoy their own sovereignty”, Recica said.
