Thousands of people have protested in Budapest Saturday against the government of Prime Minister Viktor Orban, the new winner of parliamentary elections.
Orban's opponents flocked to the Hungarian capital to oppose what they call a “unfair election system”.
The protest comes 6 days after the Fidesz Party won 2/3 of the seats in Parliament. It was organised by a Facebook group called “We are mostly”. Those who took the lead said “Orba stole the” election and added that “corruption characterises his government”.
Given the large number of people who joined this protest, another protest was reported next weekend.
According to the BBC, there were about 100,000 people present in the demonstration against Orban. They held Hungarian and European flags in their hands.
Although there were a large number of police officers in this protest, no incidents occurred.
Victor Orban is a major Eurosceptic and his campaign consisted of the platform against immigrants.
