The “The United States has taken this move in co-operation with our NATO allies and our partners worldwide, in response to Russia's use of chemical military-level weapons on United Kingdom territory, the latest action in the continuation of its destabilising actions worldwide” is said in an official White House statement concerning the expulsion of Russian diplomats.
White House Press Secretary Donald J. Trump ordered the expulsion of dozens of Russian intelligence service officials from the United States and the closure of the Russian consulate in Seattle because of its proximity to one of our submarine bases and the Boeing Company centre.
The United States has undertaken this move in co-operation with our NATO allies and our partners worldwide, in response to Russia's use of military-level chemical weapons on United Kingdom territory, the latest action in its destabilising actions worldwide.
Today's measures make the United States safer by limiting Russia's ability to spy on Americans and perform secret operations that threaten American national security.
With these steps, the United States and our allies and partners make it clear to Russia that its actions have consequences. The United States is willing to co-operate to build a better relationship with Russia, but this can only happen with changing the behaviour of the Russian government.
