VV seeks interference for organised crime in senior state institutions (Document)

“Today, the Parliamentary Group of the Vetevendosje Movement handed over to the Republic of Kosovo's Parliamentary Assembly the application for interference to Prime Minister Ramush Haradinaj over corruption and organised crime in the institutions and senior officials of the Republic of Kosovo”, the VV report said.
According to the VV, in September 2017, the European Union has engaged three experts and that Maurizio Varanese, Theo Bil and Camelia Bogdan, to assess Kosovo's capacity in the fight against high-level corruption and organised crime. The same few days ago, they submitted the report to leaders of several justice institutions, including the Ministry of European Integrations.
From the assessment that has been done through the analysis of cases that have been handled during the investigation phase, according to the VV, persecution and trial, until the almighty ruling and after several meetings held with the heads of justice system institutions, experts have found that the justice system has failed to combat corruption and organised crime.
The “for us is clear that high-level corruption involving and senior officials in Kosovo institutions, including the government, public enterprises and independent agencies and institutions has reached alarming levels and represents exemplary cases of capture of state”, the announcement said.
The VV expects the Headship of the Assembly to assign this intervention without delay. /Periscopi
