Thaci: I will not allow anyone to veto the formation of the army

Kosovo Security Force today organised the ceremony for the manifestation of “The KLA age”, attended by Kosovo President Hashim Thaci and Prime Minister Ramush Haradinaj in the KSF barracks “Adem Jashari” in Pristina.

Kosovo President Hashim Thaci in his speech, praising The KSF said the KSF transformation would be made with constitutional changes, while said it would not allow anyone to impose unlimited veto.

The “Nivel of your preparation in many dimensions is better than the region's armed forces. Although today is a festive day where pride and sacrifice for freedom and independence are commemorated, we cannot help but say that your forward march in professional transformation failed to convey our policy. I am convinced that this final step of making Kosovo armed with the Armed Forces after a long period of development of the Security Forces, in an excellent partnership with the US, KFOR and NATO, is in the interest of all Kosovo citizens, all communities, security and peace in Kosovo and the region. We want and intend that the Armed Forces do with constitutional changes, joining a country in the Kosovo Assembly, the political will, of all communities, but at the same time will not allow anyone to veto an unlimited veto of our legitimate and legal right“, President Thaci has said.

Prime Minister Ramush Haradinaj said the KSF, with constitutional changes very soon, will be transformed into an army, in co-operation with NATO.

“Today we can return and respectfully remember the fall of Commander Adam Jashar”, Haradinaj said.

Rifat Jashari on behalf of the Jashar family has said that today they are remembering all the fallen for Albanian soils in Kosovo.
