Donald Trump's administration on Monday ordered the expulsion of 60 Russian intelligence and diplomacy officials to New York and Washington. The decision has even been made to close the Russian consulate in Seattle in response to the poisoning of the former Russian spy in Britain, writes the Washington Post, reports Periscope.
Twelve Russian diplomats at the United Nations in New York and 48 others at the Russian Embassy in Washington will face the expulsion the US government gave them for what administration officials called hidden intelligence operations that carry American national security.
The United States will also close the Russian consulate in Seattle, which officials of the Trump administration believe has served as a central point for Russian intelligence operations.
That is the harshest response so far that Trump's administration has undertaken the March 4th attack, which Russia made to its former agent in Salisbury.
Fourteen European nations have also announced co-ordinated expulsions of Russian diplomats Monday for the same reason.
