The Parliamentary Commission on Board and Finance today has reviewed the draft law on ratification of the Hua Agreement between Kosovo, B ERZH for the Kijevo-Zahak Highway project.
Finance Minister Bedri Hamza arguing with this bill has said that in the continuation of partnership with international financial institutions, a draft law for financing the infrastructure project linking Pristina and Pec through credit and means from the Kosovo budget has been drafted.
He said it is a favourable and important agreement. According to him, the entire project is around 200m euros, where 38m will be separated from the Kosovo budget, while the rest is from the EURZH and the European Investment Bank.
Hamza has said that the work can begin at the end of spring for this large project of about 30 miles [33 km].
Lumir Abdixhiku, chairman of the Commission, said the agreement in question is natural and fair because this road is built with credit and state budgetary means dedicated to other primary sectors.
According to him, credit conditions are also low, and the cost comes cheaply compared to building highways in the past.
He said that based on credit conditions and the amount of guaranteed loan tools, it turns out project Kijevo - The 33km Zahaq turns out to be at a cost of 200m euros, and the price of a mile [1 km] of road will be no more than 6. 5 million euros.
All members of this commission have voted in favour of the draft law on the Kyjevo-Zhaq highway.
