SBASK repeats: Either meet our demands or strike indefinitely

Officials of the United Education, Science and Culture Union have declared that the daily strike in the education sector that is being held today is the result of non-fulfillment of the teachers' demands, while they have reiterated that if their demands are not met then they will go on a general strike.

The SBASK chairman, Nundman Jasharaj, has said their request is to be submitted to the Parliament Bill on the status of workers of the 1990s.

He said Kosovo government should know that P The ISA is coming and it has the key to act and implement the requirements, first address the law for the 90s that is complete and then start negotiations and discuss the contract concretely both the Law of Salaries and the Labour Law.

If Government has enough time it doesn't reflect until April 13th, then the entire educational system will again be on strike, but there will be no room for escalating strikes, but there will be strikes throughout the education system, except for indefinite nests. Everything until the moment we see closely that we are starting to realize our demands”, Jasharaj said at a conference that was held at SBASK's offices Monday afternoon.

Jasharaj disclosed that today's strike has been supported by the maximum number of education institutions, where he said they have not been able to find a school that has not responded to the strike.

While, he has indicated that there has been no communication with state institutions so far and that they expect tomorrow to begin communication with them.

The SBASK chairman has said he has been asked by the Government and insists on demanding that the entire Kolektive contract be realised, saying this contract is the entire educational system. Likewise, Jasharaj said they have demanded that the Labour Law include concrete SBASK ideas belonging to education.

And as for what the Ministry of Finance had declared could not provide approval for a Bill that does not respect the budget Law procedures, the Public Finance Management Law and other existing responsibilities and documents, Ymer Imer of the SBASK says that 2 million and 514 thousand euros are needed to carry out the law for 2018.

If they want to blame us for this action let's give us a authorization within two days we have to find the money within Kosovo's budget. We just have to stop what's being misused by the pay system, and we have to find the money to implement the law that in 2018 it takes 2 million and a half, not 6 million, as Lulzim Rafuna said and the 12 million he said about the second year. So it takes two and a half million and six and a half million because it's a document issued by the Ministry of Finance, and this document says that in 2018 it takes 2 million and 514 thousand and 697 euros. In 2019 it takes 6 million 738 euros, and in the third year it takes 7 million and 504 thousand and 101 euros, totaling it from 2018 to 2020. It means they are trying to manipulate, disinform the opinion”, Imer said.

The Council of Parents and KLMDNJ, which had opposed the strike, and SBASK Chairman Jasharaj has said that they should not criticize the SBASK, but that those criticisms lead by the government.

He said that the SBASK has never used children, nor will he use children to achieve its goals.

If someone loves Kosovo children, we love teachers, but is forgetting the parents' council that we are parents, we have children, and at the same time if Kosovo's children are harmed. The council is wrong, we can accuse the council that he is exploiting his authority by violating our basic right to strike. We are not making strikes against the children, but we are making strikes as our possible opportunity to put legal pressure on power. Kosovo's parents and the council there instead of criticising us and trying to deny us the basic right to express our dissatisfactions that are based on the law on strikes, they are thinking they have it less, criticism should be addressed to the government cabinet, Minister Hamza and others”, Jasharaj said.

Today's strike has also been attached to Pristina University “Hasan Pristina”, Mitrovica University “Isa Boletin”, Ferizaj University, Prizren University “Uksin Hoti”, Peja University “Hajxhi Zeka”. While the University of Gjakova and Gjilan are not members of the SBASK and they have not joined the strike.

And regular instruction will be held from tomorrow. /
