Residents of settlements along the border belt with Montenegro have issued joint statements today, under which they stress they do not recognise the ratified border agreement between the two states.
They through a letter have announced the Montenegrin and Kosovo government that they will not allow the implementation of the Demarket Agreement either.
So have residents of Rugova, Podgur and several Decani villages, who have gathered again to express concerns about the border line with Montenegro.
They voiced confidence that they would never allow the implementation on the ground of the border line ratified by the two states.
The representative of village residents of the Podgur region, Sadri Zekaj, said they would not allow the ratified border to be located at Jablanica.
If Montenegro is now responding to what points, signs that the border is coming here, know there's nothing out of any promises. We will react strongly. I request your support that the community is the main word. I don't care about MP or politics, I'm interested in the community being the main word that it was our land, our fathers', of our ancestors,”, he said.
And Ali Lajci, deputy of the Vetevendosje Movement, who spoke on behalf of Rugova's community, said that 80 MPs who voted in pro-demarket history would recognise them as traitors.
Whatever history gives you, I believe it's done, history has given. Those people will be taxing with a real assessment as salesmen and traitors of the territory of the Republic of Kosovo”, Lajci said.
Even Decani municipality village representative Hysen Balaj said the current agreement brings only conflict, while appealing as soon as commissions with professional experts are formed to correct mistakes during border demarcation.
