Authorities in Albania have taken steps to implement the government's decision to introduce the payment of the highway connecting Kosovo and Albania, otherwise called Nation Road
From some published photographs, equipment has already been installed to classify vehicles, which will be paid from 2.5 to 22.5 euros for a direction ahead of the Calimash tunnel.
For normal cars, the price of 5 euros for an introduction will be worth -- a figure that has been described as high and unacceptable for such a distance of the highway.
Many Kosovars have criticised Albania's decision, some even calling it a robbery. Others have argued that highways are paid worldwide, but that the price is high appears to have reconciliation in Kosovo's opinion.
Media have reported that the company that has contracted the maintenance of the highway is owned by the richest businessman in Albania, Shefqet Kastratit, also known for his ties with Edi Rama.
