A poll conducted by the Serbian newspaper Politika, to learn who are the foreign politicians to whom Serbs most trust, has led Russia's president, Vladimir Putin, to first place.

A total of 58 percent of respondents have said that they trust Putin.

German Chancellor Angela Merkel has taken second place, while 42 percent of Serbs have said she is most trusted by foreigners, Balkan Insight reports.

This is not surprising because Putin has been the most popular foreign leader in Serbia for years, according to any research or methodology”, Politika has written in her report.

The Serbian newspaper has stressed that Putin, in Serbia, enjoys the same level of trust as in Russia, broadcasts the Express newspaper.

Politics has conducted the survey between March 9th and March 13th.
