Thaci's complete writing:
The Kosovo Assembly ended unnecessary political uncertainty about the border line with Montenegro. Today's Ratification of the Interstate Agreement, which held back a three-year visa liberalisation for our citizens, was the right move of the parliamentary majority. It was an act that guarantees and strengthens the Euro-Atlantic future, paving the way for many important processes for our country.
Kosovo has lost enough time with this issue, which unjustly slowed the state step forward, creating political and social divisions, which may be hard to compensate for in a short time. However, today's deputies' votes in the Kosovo Assembly are hopeful that they will be influenced by daily political interests, but by Kosovo's strategic interest.
The broad consensus achieved in the Kosovo Assembly should serve as a long-term platform of co-operation among political subjects, especially when the state interest is in question. And exactly dialogue on normalising relations between Kosovo and Serbia is such a matter of state interest, in which we should be united.
We fulfilled our obligations, so very soon our citizens will also freely move into the Schengen area, because I am sure that the EU will do its tasks in no time.
Now it must be with accelerated steps, implementing the package of reforms, to create a new dynamic in the process of our country's EU and NATO membership. HTH
