According to a research institute study “Capa Research”, on behalf of Greek television Alpha TV, by survey data, 92.5% of respondents think Turkey is the highest risk for Greece. According to survey data, 47% of respondents consider Albania to be the biggest risk and 37% of the former Yugoslav Republic of Macedonia.
As far as Greek-Turkish government relations are concerned, 49.5% of respondents think the two countries' approach is the best solution, against 46% supporting an official Athens harsh stance on Ankara.
What is most frightening for 65% of Greeks is the possibility of a war episode with Turkey. In fact, almost one in five Greeks (49.5%) does not rule out that Greece would lose if it went into the conflict with Turkey. An equally high percentage of 48% fears economic and political isolation.
Citizens seem divided on Macedonia's issue. 67.5% have supported continuing negotiations. However, 53.4% believe there will be no final solution. There is even greater division on the name issue, with 44.9% supporting a complex name that includes the term “Macedonia”, while 46.8% is against the complex name, the name Macedonia should not exist.
