Powerful police forces blocked access to the Kovilova Sports Centre, where a match should be held between Serbia and Kosovo.
The Serbian government earlier announced that the match has been cancelled for security reasons.
The decision to stop the game comes hours after fans announced their arrival before the Kovilovo sports centre and in days when tensions between governments in Belgrade and Pristina were increasing, reports “b92”, Periscopi broadcast.
Police are located along Zrenjanin's route and in the town of Pupin. Police do not allow the presence of journalists.
The match will take place today at 1600, but the interior minister decided to stop it.
Initially, the match, which had to play without state symbols and national anthem, was scheduled in Kragujevac, but then for security reasons “moved” to Kovilovo.
The European Handball Federation (EHF) has decided that even fans, but media representatives can't take part in the match. /Periscope/
